My heart goes out to you for your suffering during the troubles in N. Ireland. You are right people should not live in fear of being killed by bombs and bullets. But there is no comparison here. This is not tit for tat violence. The Uk did not blanket bomb Belfast. Did not use illegal phospheros bombs. Did not buldoze your homes for throwing stones, steal your land, your liveihood. It did not Impose a an illegal blockade that is slowly causing death by malnutrition and lack of medication. And many many more human right violations, by Israel. This is the reaction of a people being exterminated by an stronger nation, their only crime being Palestinian, with the whole world watching, and their governments voicing the lie that Israel is protecting itself.

Israel does not want peace. It uses any provacation to launch an attack on Gaza. The murderer of the palestinain child burnt to death, Israel claims will face the Judicial system. The murder of the three Israeli settlers was in contrast the indiscriminate bombing of Gaza with over 1000 deaths to date and over 5000 injured. Equal justice?

Without a 2-state solution of Palestine and Israel, joint recognition, the lifting the Gaza blockade by *both Israel and Egypt, and robust embracing of living side-by-side by each nation, these kinds of assaults and huge civilian casualties will re-occur. "Peace Now", for all parties, in all places.
I also support US economic sanctions on all parties until this goal is achieved.
