Demands on Vice-Chancellor of Cambridge University (Cambridge Defend Education)

1. To publicly condemn the White Paper, to repudiate marketising vision that underpins it and reject the collusion with corporate interests which it seeks to further. 2. To guarantee no course closures. 3. To guarantee no job cuts and no adverse changes to staff terms and conditions; and to recognise the University and College Union. 4. To provide maintenance grants to all students. 5. To guarantee no cuts to library, student support or learning resources. 6. To guarantee no cuts to access schemes, which have become even more vital in light of the government's attacks on Further Education. 7. To guarantee that the university will aspire to become a public, not-for-profit body, with transparent democratic structures granting real control to staff and students. 8. To express no confidence in the Minister of State for Universities and Science, David Willetts.
