Having completed a thesis titled, 'Elder Abuse in a Domestic Situation', for my Humanities (Hons) Bachelor of Arts degree this year. I realised that the shrud of family secrecy allowed elder abuse to continue in silence. Through my research, I realised that the HSE and the Gardai found it very difficult to prove & detect elder abuse in the family home. Therefore this subject is not taken seriously in Ireland and elderly people go to their hastened graves emotionally, physically and mentally tornented. This silent abuse has to end. Lets begin with legalizing CCTV in all elderly care homes. I'm asking the Minister for Health, Simon Harris for a meeting and hopefully with enough signatures I can expose Elder Abuse in both a domestic situation and a care home situation in a documentary that's been in the making for over fourteen years. Lets make sure our senior citizens enjoy their golden years and have happy memories only when they decide to take their final breath.

We must protect and support OUR elderly. Putting in CCTV will go a long way to making life more comfortable and enjoyable for them to live
The elderly need protection. Always remember, they once looked after us, now we have to look after them.

Absolutely although my mother was in a home for 5 years and you could arrive anytime of day or night & gain entry. No problem.
