In response to the board’s plan to attract new members through another major golf renovation, lets recap the past 15 years. Since I have lived and been a member at CCNC in the past 15 years, there have been 3 major golf renovations and 1 amenities renovation (the pool). The club has spent millions on renovating Dogwood in 1999-2000, Cardinal in 2002-2003 and the Cardinal’s greens in 2010-2011. When I joined the club, CCNC had 1100+ members in 2000, in 2015 we have fewer than 900. If golf were the driving force behind individuals joining our club we would not be down over 20% from 15 years ago. We have to reevaluate what the new private club member is looking for: such as updated and/or new amenities, which have to be state of the art and world class. Other clubs around the country and even locally are doing this, i.e. Pinehurst CC with a 5 million dollar pool and amenity project, and have had success. Across the country golf round and membership is declining with no end in sight. If CCNC wants to remain relevant, we also have to take action now and plan for the future.

We echoed similar thoughts to the Board earlier this month. We feel strongly that the club proceeds only when a legitimate and viable future plan has been adopted.

I agree and have previously sent such comments to Saeed. WE still have too many loose ends in the "story" although the initial priorities seem appropriate.

I believe the actions as outlined by Justin Bode and Scott' recent emails, take CCNC renovation in a direction I personally find appealing!

Scott, Thank you for putting this petition together. The message is clearly put: we need a strategic plan, the original plans for the three projects are sound, but we may have to stretch out the timing so there is enough money to do all three the way recommended in all three professional studies.
