We have all heard about Paul Fletcher resigning as Coventry City Football Clubs Managing Director and many of you who live in and around Coventry are (Correctly) Coventry fans, who have and will support our club through the rough patches of our existance. But im afraid to say that this latest blow has come at a time when our beloved club is on the verge of great things, a great start to the 07/08 season, one of the brightest young managers in the business Mr Iian Dowie, a developing squad of great ability and a magnificant win at the theatre of dreams, Old Trafford, Manchester. The proposed takeover of Coventry City FC is being stalled at the present by Coventry City Council, who own the stadium Ricoh Arena, however the council will not let the Arena go without a profit. Most major cities around England have a thriving football team which help build morale, group cohesion and togetherness of the population in that city. Please Please Please do not let Coventry City Council ruin this club by forcing it into administration or maybe even worse! We need a huge amount of people, living in and out of Coventry, to sign this petition and I hope I can count on the Sky Blue Armies support in getting this as high profile as possible! If there are any doubts towards the credability of this petition please feels free to search this site http://www.ipetitions.com/start-petition/

Updates

October 8, 2007

The current trajectory of this petition has secured a meeting with local representatives next week to discuss the stadium sale. I am currently drafting a formal letter to present our position directly to the council leadership.

Stop holding the city hostage over this stadium. We need this sorted before we end up back in administration again.

The council is killing this club. Let us own our home already.

Total madness. They should be helping the club grow but instead they are acting like a bunch of greedy landlords.

Ridiculous that the city council is trying to profit off our own team. We just want to watch football in peace without the constant drama.

Been a fan my whole life and watched us suffer through enough. Leave the arena alone and let the club move forward!! PUSB
