The Catalina Classic is a Manhattan Beach tradition to be celebrated. I support a statue to commemorate this statue to honor that tradition.

Retired Water Department Employee of City of Manhattan Beach, this is a beautiful work of art that is very appropriate for the City, you’d have to be fool to let this opportunity go to waste.

I grew up watching the paddlers come in at the pier every summer and finishing the race in 2015 was rite of passage that I will forever be proud of. Prone paddling and the Classic have a rich tradition in Manhattan that should be celebrated with the statue.

The Catalina is the most iconic paddle board race in the world. It’s nostalgic ora attracts the best paddles from around the world. It deserves the statue similar to the Dukes statue in Hawaii. It commemorates past and future paddlers that challenge themselves on this iconic ocean voyage for over 42 years and beyond.

Born and raised in Manhattan and it's nice to see something that will reflect the surf culture that my dad, brother-in-law, nephew were a big part of, beginning in the 1930's.
