As was revealed at this year's YREMS CME, YREMS management has a "plan", the details of which are unknown to front-line paramedics, to move YREMS to an all full-time service. After having concerns raised at numerous CMEs, YREMS management has advised us (the front-line staff) to communicate our interests to YREMS via our union. This petition a mechanism by which to communicate that collective interest of both full-time and casual staff who believe some form of reduced permanent work load should be available to ALL staff at any point in their careers. Signing this petition does NOT express your intention to maintain a casual or job share classification per se, but rather, expresses your interest to have a REDUCED WORKLOAD OPTION negotiated into the collective agreement for all current and future paramedics, and to protect that option until a new collective agreement is in place.
