its honestly ridiculous how hard it is to get a straight answer from the athletic dept. kids are just trying to play their sport and they get ignored completely.

I concur with this petition. There's a glaring disparity between one particular sport versus all the others. Please help me and all of us understand why there is so much time and resources dedicated to volleyball when it was in fact your swim team that actually went to States two years in a row and brought home several gold medals. And yet, they were not even so much as mentioned in your yearbook. The banner in the gym is incomplete, and there continues to be a lack of administrative and financial support. I'm not interested in hearing excuses for this as the past can't be undone, but I fully expect to hear what your solutions are moving forward.

This year’s rollout of the new tennis team was hasty, unplanned, and disorganized, to say the least. The coach, students, and parents were never told that the team would be ineligible for post season play, even though their record would have earned them a berth. Much thanks to Coach Gil Freeth who went to bat for the team with the NIAA, though to no avail.
This was very upsetting to sophomores on the team who had already established a place (in their freshman year) on their zoned high school’s tennis team. They were forced to leave their team to play for CASLV, only to have such a disappointing season.
Please disband the tennis team unless and until proper effort has been made to ensure a better overall situation for the team. This would also allow kids who have previously played for other teams to return to those teams.

Swim team has been experiencing the similar issues since the team was established such as; severely lack of recognition of their efforts and achievements from school, support system to the coach and team members including funding, transparency, and various opportunities for fund raising. These issues should be addressed and resolved so that athletes can practice and compete at the optimal conditions/environment.
