Watching the murders unfold on Discovery I. D. such an innocent couple of teenagers T. J. & Casey who trusted their BFF Robert Buttrey who took their lives. Buttrey should NEVER be released from prison with no parole. Too bad that the killer didn't get the Death Penalty. The killer having been released from the Navy with his Dishonorable Discharge posing a threat to himself and others he should've been in a Psych Ward for treatment. Using the birthday present a samurari sword the gift from T. J. his BFF was calculated by the killer a planned murder I think. Most likely a thrill murders for both victims who never thought T. J.'s BFF would murder them. These murders were for $$ and the killer thought by washing his clothes he would get away with the murders of his best friend with his 16 year old girlfriend. Buttrey isn't remorseful nor could ever be rehabilitated who bragged how he could kill a witness so confident he covered his tracks. The motive wasn't for T. J.'s $$ in fact this killer was sadistic in the thrill of killing two innocent teenagers who never saw it coming! In Texas, carrying a samurai sword is legal in most places in Texas since House Bill 1935 went into effect Sept. 1. Daggers, dirks, stilettos, throwing knives, poniards, spears, machetes and Bowie knives are all OK under the new law, as long as you don't bring them to churches, bars, amusement parks, jails, polling places or other spots where they might actually come in handy. And of course, this being Texas, lugging around a long gun even without a carry permit is fine. Just don't get caught carrying a trench knife in the Lone Star State, even if it does have a Confederate flag on it, or you'll be facing a serious charge. So maybe samari swords with other weapons should be outlawed as an extra measure to ensure the safety of Texans. The killer is only remorseful he got caught so he should rot in prison for the rest of his natural life in solitary confinement never to see daylight again. If

He needs to stay in for life, why was this deal made? Texas is usually tough on killers.

This man is a monster. What he did was cold, calculated, and pure evil! I can't believe he was only sentenced to 10 years total for both lives he took and can get out in just 5 years. How is this justice for Casey and T.J.? This sick individual took two lives on purpose and he should pay with his even if it's life in prison. The fact he could get out in 5 short years is sickening.

This guy needs to be put away for life! I can’t believe he was given such light sentences for the cold blooded murders of two, innocent people. Shameful! He’s a danger to society and should NOT be “rewarded” with freedom, of any kind.

This bottom dweller does not deserve to ever get parole. His victims' lives were extinguished by this schmuck. His victims, don't get their lives back. so why should he?

Casey NOR T. J. was related to Buttery the killer. Any reference to that is totally false. T. J. and Buttrey were childhood friends.

Maybe not fair, But GOD took him, out in his own way and it doesn't get better than GOD's wrath. At least this family has some closure and a feeling of some justice and although it won't bring her back, There is some peace to this.

He should not be allowed to be free when the two young lives he took are no longer on this earth.

I just thought I would throw it out there that he was sadly released in 2011 after two years. He then was killed in a car wreck in 2017. Two year for two lives is just not even close to being fair. Apparently we weren’t the only ones who thought so. If signing this would help that would be great but sorry it won’t.
