This petition is for the Orem City Mayor and the members of the Orem City Council in regards to the proposed park and soccer fields at the Cascade Golf Course. We would like to request that a maximum of two competition sized soccer fields be allowed at this location instead of three. We feel it is irresponsible of Orem City to give permission for a narrow street to be constructed through our neighborhood and then compromise the safety of the children in that neighborhood by allowing a soccer complex with almost 300 parking spaces to bring increased traffic to an already over crowded and dangerous street. We urge you, Mr. Mayor and Council members to make safety the number one priority when considering your decision on this park. We do not ask to eliminate the soccer fields. Just to reduce the fields to two instead of three, thereby limiting the traffic and potential harm to our children.
