As a Dorchester parent of a Boston Collegiate graduate, I agree! The scariest part of each day was when I knew she was walking between BCCS and the T station because it’s so dangerous to be a pedestrian in that area.

Thank you for taking the initiative for improving the safety of our neighborhood, Miss Richardson. My children are too young to cross by themselves now but soon enough I will be sending them to navigate our neighborhood by themselves. My son was hit in the crosswalk next to the sugar bowl on Monday March 3rd. His left foot was brushed and the driver drove off. The police still haven’t found the driver and he has a long recovery road ahead of him. I called 311 after the accident and it felt like my concern wasn’t heard.

I used to do the crossing at the intersection of Dorchester Avenue/Columbia Road. Very dangerous area. Great job, Caroline!
