Carlisle's Water Supply - friend of Carlisle

With rich water reserves in Canada, water tower would not be major concern but not for people living in Carlisle. Their communal system has historically experienced low water supply especially during summer time. While the Carlisle water tower was out of service until December 2013, water in the town had being supplied directly from the active wells. In December during the tower testing, the supply was significantly reduced and the water turned into brown and was not possible to use for health concerns.
Right now residents of Carlisle are
expressing their concerns about City’s intention to take their private wells
under control and impose water service fees and other costs from constriction
to consulting.
Putting aside aesthetic considerations of
the possible new water tower and come to the point that residents of Carlisle
are satisfied with current water supply using active wells. Why the tower is needed if water can be pumped
directly into homes from private wells?
While residents of Carlisle haven’t
received sufficient and reasonable evidences to erect the water tower, the
possible reasons of such a strong pressure is to gain control over water supply
fees, definitely with some commercial interests from other parties and another
one is residential development in the surrounding areas which requires water
supply.
The whole picture reminds a scene from the
movie the Lorax, where the marketing team suggests selling fresh air in bottles
while everyone can have it for free. You know how this all ended.
