Many ppl are retiring in our city as is evidenced by the many senior complexes and assisted living condos being built and all are full. Logically the next step to assisted living is a personal care home bed. Due to the shortage in our city the hospital becomes the holding place until a bed "somewhere" becomes available and this may mean months and even over a year in limbo for our most vulnerable citizens. Citizens that deserve better, deserve respect and the love of family being near to them (not several communities away) during their final years.

Steinbach is in desperate need of more Senior Care Facilities. As our population ages this will become much more of an issue. When my dad was in need of placement in a Senior Home, he had to go to another community that was foreign to him. This felt like a very cruel thing to do for a man that needed to be in a familiar place with his family and friends nearby. I ask you to please look at this shortage for our senior citizens.

Steinbach is in desperate need of more personal care home beds and space. The wait is far too long, and it is hard on families to have to drive to other communites to see their parent/grandparent, etc.

I know of a few ppl now that had to go somewhere else where they knew no one, very hard for the elderly to do this when in their situation need family more than ever

Our elders should be respected for their contributions and allowed to remain in their community which is the third largest city in the Province

First the "system" has made hosp. access extremely difficult for seniors with disabilities and now we find we have no facilities to house us in Steinbach. PLSE.. make this a priority. EF.

We need more PCH Beds in Steinabch so we can stop the unjust acts committed against our Senior Population who have lived and worked their whole life in Steinbach and now are beening housed in other communities when they need to be taken care of near their family and loved ones.
