CARIBBEAN CULTURE CENTRE FOR IPSWICH COMMUNITY
The Ipswich Caribbean Association was founded in 1980 until 2010 when it closed its doors for the last time.
The centre was a meeting place for all ages to meet and integrate
altogether, since its closure there is nowhere for the community to
meet.
It was a place that had no racial borders and brought the community
together. A place where other communities nationwide would come and
integrate with the community of Ipswich.
Since 2010 Ipswich Borough Council has not helped to locate premises as
they promised for the Caribbean Community to unite and socialise. This
has become a problem as there is a lack of communication and information
for the community and the time has come now that Ipswich Borough
Council needs to provide the community with a centre for social events,
socialisation and a place to convene.
