Here in Wolverhampton, the local Government is about to close yet another Care Home which is for the Mentally and Multidisabled. Yet another nail in the coffin of the care of the people of this country. We keep hearing about the state of other countries but bit by bit what was once an exelent social service is being eroded and leaving the poorest and least able without hope. There is just one thing good about it is that they are unaware that they are about to loose there home and the staff who have been looking after them. We are fast loosing controll of our land to polititians who at the end of the day are quite happy to take large salaries while cutting services for those who most need them. Families are distraught when they see thier loved ones being moved around like chessmen, so that the bugets balance, and the councilers don't care, they just keep saying we haven't decidied, no decision has been made, while all the time they steam ahead towards making them homeless. Don't let it happen, MAKE THEM ACCOUNTABLE. We haven't let other countries tell us what to do we went to war for our beliefs, so come on stand up and be counted, SIGN THIS PEPTITION and say NO to any more cut backs to services for the old or vunerable.

Updates

December 21, 2008

The reach of this petition has captured the attention of local news outlets. I am currently preparing a formal letter to the council to demand a public explanation of these potential closures.

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!! They are people not numbers on a spreadsheet. Shame on the council for even thinking about this.

Disgraceful. These people have no one else to fight for them. My uncle was in care and it is hard enough as it is without the council pulling the rug out from under them.

Wolverhampton council needs to wake up and look after their own instead of wasting money elsewhere. Leave them alone.
