Cardigan Road is a relatively narrow, residential street in E3, with housing on either side of the road in close proximity.

The road is 250 metres long, and with parking bays the road is just wide enough for two cars to pass each other. It is also a dead-end street with access from one end only (Tredegar Road).

Deliveries to both Tesco and Iceland are causing unacceptable levels of noise, congestion, traffic and pollution, often late at night (sometimes after 10pm) and early in the morning (often before 7am). The situation is exacerbated on busy market days where space and access is even more limited.

We the undersigned petition the Council to enforce delivery restrictions on Iceland Roman Road and Tesco Bow Gladstone:

• Limit the number of deliveries by HGVs on Cardigan Road to one delivery per hour (either Tesco or Iceland)
• Limit delivery hours to 8am - 8pm on weekdays, 9am - 8pm at weekends
• Enforce HGVs to switching off vehicle engines when not moving
• Use of properly silenced and maintained equipment (including quiet roll-cages and rubber mats) for all deliveries
