We should have done better. It is our job as healthcare professionals to educate and inform our fellow citizens on best healthcare practices. We have failed and our now paying the ultimate price and on that will be very hard to undue.

Dr. Christ, resign. In my county, we have run out of supplies for rapid (Abbott) testing at hospital, there are no funds to offer lodging stipends, hindering our ability to attract RN's and RT's, our contact tracers are volunteers and only half of them have State issued cell phones with which to do their work. Doctors and nurses and volunteers are risking their lives while you dither. Our hospital is at surge capacity while you "monitor" and "follow the data". Get out of the way! You have failed us.

There have been little to no protections or support for keeping frontline healthcare teams safe and supported during our desperate attempts to treat the throngs of patients who have overwhelmed our hospitals. There must be swift action to ensure 1) full PPE for all members of the healthcare teams (n95 masks for everyone working in healthcare spaces); 2) paid sick-leave, to ensure low-wage healthcare workers can safely and without financial hardship, call out from work when sick; 3) state sponsored and supported self-quarantine options for all frontline workers who have concerns about transmitting COVID19 to vulnerable family members at home, and catching COVID19 from family while living at home. Supports for self-quarantine should include daily physical and emotional symptom monitoring, emotional support resources for healthcare workers and their households, regularly scheduled rtPCR testing to ensure HCWs are not asymptomatic spreaders of COVID19.

what is the purpose of having training in epidemiology, virology and microbiology if you are going to lead like someone who got their license from Google? What makes you any more helpful than the general lay person? Your refusal to put the best interests of Arizonans above your own political interests is why you must resign. If you refuse to follow the science at a time when it is most critical, then you need to resign!
