This petition has been started in order to protest about the continuing hikes in energy prices that are going on across the UK. The government is doing little to stop this and instead is just standing by and allowing big business to rake in more and more money whilst the poorest in our society suffer. There are an ever growing number of households across the UK who are falling into fuel poverty. This means that they are often forced to choose between heating their home or feeding themselves or their family. This is wholly unacceptable in a country that claims to pride itself on its inequality and justice.
