This call for an end to capital punishment is not based upon whether the practice is right or wrong, rather it is based upon awareness that under the system of the Constitutional Law, Universal Document of Human Rights, and Geneva Conventions, every human being is guaranteed their right to life and human rights. The following recognitions provide evidence that capital punishment is a form of torture that should not be tolerated within our own country that stands for justice, liberty, and freedom for all; The wrongful execution of an innocent person is an injustice that can never be rectified. With the high costly expenses for death penalty taken into consideration as well as other international views on world-wide countries that have abandoned the death penalty, and religious groups in the United States that regard executions as injustice or immoral, we have chose to oppose the death penalty and forms that come along with it including; Lethal Injection, Electrocution, Lethal Gas, Firing Squad, and Hanging. We, the undersigned, believe this to be true, and having placed our signatures here-in we call for an end to capital punishment in all states within the United States of America.
