My children’s teachers spend additional time with them making sure they understand their work in both languages.

They should be compensated and rewarded for having extra training and certifications. Others will be incentivized to want to become Dual Immersion teachers if they see that the additional work and training required will be rewarded financially.

Dual teachers work twice as hard for the love of dual language. Dual teachers deserve a stipend.

I am a Spanish dual immersion teacher that had to take extra classes in order to instruct in Spanish. My work is worth a stipend. Dual immersion teachers have to create so many more resources to differentiate instruction and insure all students are getting the adequate support. It also takes way more of our personal time planning on our end compared to an English only teacher.

Everyone deserves an education. Providing bilingual education not only lifts those in the classroom but our society as a whole.
