Schools need to realise a child's individuality and with the uniform haircut shoes bags etc, and then people complain kids don't have no respect these days. Go back to the days we're you could we're what you wanted, did education suffer then no. And really if a short skirt skinny trousers puts teachers of may be they need to learn the basics of teaching again because schools are taking are children's human rights away.

Uniforms should never be only supplied from limited sources, this stifles competition which is illegal. Schools should not be run as businesses as those in charge are teachers not business managers.

Shame on them! The school is in the middle of a massively deprived area and shows no consideration for parents on a budget or those with multiple children. When I went to the school there was a rule that no one was allowed to wear branded clothing so that it prevented bullying for those who could not afford more expensive clothes like Nike. Common sense is not so common and whoever introduced this clearly has none.

Mark not defending her but following the article she has said if a parent requires financial help they will assist. Although this is only by offering to pay for ONE item of clothing like one pair of trousers etc. It's not enough by a long shot... But hope you do get some help - many are too embarrassed to ask but should be encouraged to ask - she created the issue she should pay for it in my opinion - thanks for your support and please continue to share thank you

Yes you are permitted to wear these now following the last article in gazette head has said if you have existing uniform you can continue to wear them until January however we want to make sure this stops in all schools for the future. Although this kind of defeats her changing it in first place as she will now have different children in different uniform creating an even bigger divide. This is outrageous when in this day and age the cost of living is not moving with wage increases how are parents meant to manage and children do need new uniform every year they should be able to shop wherever they can get it as cheaply as possible

Fully agree Louise - we encourage the use of uniform - a blazer or jumper with logo for example but the expense for this is enough without looking every item. Thanks for your support please continue to share :)

The academy in question that sparked this petition is already failing with a terrible offsead report - your very right this does seem to be an ongoing issue. Hopefully we can begin to make a difference together - thanks for your support :) please continue to share.

It is discussing that people need to pay for logo inform as my kid allways ruins hers. People can only just afford to pay for uniform as well as feed there child and cloth them.

As a former parent of two students at St Peters academy in Southbank I totally disagree with the uniform costs to be implemented and passed onto an already deprived area and not only that but no need for a change. It's the staff issues that need to be paramount.

As if things are not hard enough already! I think making people pay £16.50 for a pair of branded trousers is disgusting! It's not like you can only buy 1 pair! Me and my husband both work but with low paying jobs.. we wouldn't get any financial help.. there's no way we could afford it!!
