The developer has officially agreed to dredge the lakes and overhaul the erosion controls. It has been a long and draining battle but the water will finally be restored. Keep watching the shoreline to make sure they follow through on this promise.

Residents of Canoe Club,

Most likely you purchased your home having been shown the beautiful lake system and all the possible activities associated with this asset to our community. However, we are slowly losing our lakes.

Due to the surrounding construction and possibly poor erosion controls implemented by the builder, the lakes are becoming more and more shallow by the year.

We must act before it is too late. Within just a few years the lake system will be nothing more than large mud puddles. We, as a community need to act now before the developer completes the final buildout of Canoe Club.

The feedback I keep hearing from neighbors shows just how much we are all watching the water levels drop and the muck accumulate. I am spending my evenings chasing down anyone at the district office who will listen to our concerns about this erosion. It is exhausting work but we cannot afford to let them finish the final buildout while our lakes turn into mud.

Seeing this kind of movement confirms that so many of you are feeling the same frustration about our disappearing lakefront. It has been a long and draining week but knowing I am not fighting this alone gives me the resolve to keep pushing forward.

Thank you for doing this. One of the reasons this is a problem is that the developers have not maintained the neighborhood drains into the lakes. This also needs to be addressed.

Yes the lakes are a key feature of the neighborhood. They need to be dredged out to make them as they were!
