Unacceptable. This is clear preference for other race burials to happen over the weekend.

The right and freedom to practice one's religion is enshrined in our constitution. We need protect this right and stand up against those when this is compromised. Cremations need to take place on the same day or the next irrespective of whether it is a weekend or not.
Let us continue to pursue this issue until this matter is resolved to our satisfaction.

It is for religious reasons that cremations should happen any day of the week. No restrictions.

Restriction on weekends and public holidays is not only an inconsideration to bereaved families and religious beliefs but also a violation, without cause, to the rights of the communities that are dependant on this much needed service.

This is extremely insensitive to the Lenasia community. Most funerals take place over the weekend. Please review your stance on this crucial matter.

Absolutely appalling. The fact that this kind of injustice has to be faced by an entire religious group in a Post apartheid South Africa is deeply saddening. #bringbackweekendcremation
