If you've lived or worked here in Jersey City I'm sure you've noticed the change since the CASID got involved on Central Avenue. It once again plans on closing the streets of Central Avenue on a Saturday (the Merchants busiest day of the week) to spend OUR CASID dues and YOUR tax dollars to promote what they call advertising Central Avenue. It attracts nothing but chaos for our regular customers and neighbor Parking.Please help the merchants of Central Avenue stop this festival it hurts our businesses.This has been a rough year for us merchants. Between customers not being able to park with the 2 Major storms that hit us this year, and the new parking meters that stop people from parking on Central Avenue. I also don't how many times Public Service has closed streets for work!! GEEZE give us a break!!Since the CASID came in there are more empty store fronts that I've seen in 37 years. I've had to close early because my elderly customers tell me they are afraid to come out when it gets dark why doesn't the CASID do something about that? Why are we PAYING CASID??? You know what leave us alone and stop wasting our CASID dues and taxpayers money on HINDERING local commerce. We did very well without you!!I I took some photo's from South St. to Manhattan Avenue there are 23 EMPTY STORES FRONTS. EVEN A CONDEMNED BUILDING. And the empty stores look so appealing to have a festival! THANK YOU DAVID Diaz, MR YOUNG AND THE WHOLE CASID CREW FOR DOING SUCH A GREAT JOB. Give us back our AVENUE!!
