It is obvious that the release of elder scrolls online was a success, however many gamers, both of the console and personal computer variety, would purchase the game if there was no subscription fee. Many were fans of the skyrim title so it would be expected that most of the fan base for that game would transfer to the epic elder scrolls online. However of course, Bethesda must benefit from the profits coming from sub fees but that would most likely be equal to the profit met with just regular sales if the game were free to play.
