we actually pulled it off and the district just announced the senior project requirement is officially canceled. i am honestly so relieved for all of us and i want to thank everyone who jumped on board to get this changed.

We believe it's inequitable and unfair to have a mandatory senior capstone with the current virus situation, inequitable access to support or resources, and the lack of all senior events including the possibility of no graduation ceremony or even returning to school at all.

I know the Teachers are doing all that they can but, the students are at a disadvantage with the lack of access to technology and instruction. Graduation should not be based on the completion of the Capstone Project based on the environmental issues we are facing currently.
A lot of students are having a hard time with getting online and I know its very hard to do senior capstone on your iphone.
I don’t see the point in having a senior project. Where will we present it? We canceled senior events, so cancel the project.
I cannot finish the senior project at home because personally I get really distracted by the things happening in the world, family, and I get distracted generally without someone(teacher) there to keep me straight.
Education Pathway We are already dealing with other issues from the quarantine, the project adds more unneeded stress. Most students are also self studying AP exams during their senior years! If least, cancel presentations.

Especially with the new update about school being closed for the school year I feel it is definitely unfair not only to skyline students but all ousd students to have to go through with a in class led senior project.
