I feel that they should be optional bc some students might want to take them or their parents will still want their child to take them. My friend told me that they would get to leave school early if they had midterms. So it would be better if we just made them optional.

Who doesn't like having fun? I know that I enjoy it. However, having fun shouldn't interfere with your responsibilities, like school. You have had amble time to study for what you have learned in school, and if you feel unprepared for any of the new topics that you are supposed to learn, that is an issue you should bring up with your teacher, and not the county.

Students can afford to spend snow days to study midterms. They have an extra 8 hours to study for unit tests, quizzes, projects, and labs that are immediate. The stuff that's tested on these unit tests, quizzes, projects, and labs are also things that can be tested on the midterm. Simple logic. Since all students will mostlikely have to spend their time studying for their postponed big grade works til at least Thursday now, students will have a lot of material fresh on their minds to study for the midterm. Six months of content on seven subjects in four days? More like six months of content on seven subjects in six months since students are supposed to be continuing to review and learn both in and out of class. Haha.

Well, let's see how many days we missed this year. Our winter break and other school holidays were built into the calender; that's 20+ days. Because of this, we're not really missing these days lol. Now, how many days did we miss in January? Last Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 2 hours on Friday, and Monday. That's 4 full school days and 1/3 on Friday. Sorry, but even considering winter break alone, which is like 2 weeks, we have had amble time to study for midterms. 2 weeks = 14 days. 14 Days - 4 - 1/3 = 9 Full school days and 2/3 of a school day. Sorry white dude, but maybe if you managed your time better you wouldn't be bitching so much.

I struggle with Physics and I haven't had a physics class in almost 4 weeks now because my teacher was sick the week before winter break and then I hadn't had physics because we didn't have an A day last week. If I end up having to take this physics midterm I don't think I'll be able to pass because I haven't seen my teacher to be able for him to explain anything to me.

Oh wait a minute, 4 full school days is like 32 hours lol. 1/3 of a school day is 2 hours. 14 FULL days = 336 Hours. 336 Hours - 32 - 2 = 302 Hours. Sorry but, I don't see why people are so inclined to think that learning is something that is limited to in-school instruction. We live in a very privileged county, so we should be using the resources that we have. An overwhelming majority of people have access to the Internet not only at home, but also on the go. This allows students to read information online such as Physics(http://www.physicsclassroom.com/), or watch educational videos online. However, we also have access to each other as a community of students. Create a study group if you are confused about a certain subject. Most importantly, due to our access to the Internet, it is so easy to get into contact with our teachers, whether it is through email or in person.
