After producing a collection of innovative, stealth/action games known as the Metal Gear series, Konami has recently announced that the development of their spin off, "Metal Gear Solid Rising" has been transferred over to Platinum Games and renamed "Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance". The debut trailer features cinematics and gameplay from Platinum's re-launch which has left many long-term fans of the series feeling disappointed with Hideo Kojima's decision.
What could have been a fantastic spin-off that complimented the main series and explained the events that occurred between "Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty" and "Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots" (which was originally implied in previous trailers from 2010) has been reduced to a gimmicky, hack-n-slash game with a plot that will completely change the ending of the latter.
Screenshots from the original debut trailer shown at E3 2010 showcase a game that retained a similar, aesthetic style to that of previous Metal Gear Solid titles, but promised a revolutionary combat system that would bring something new to the franchise. Fans feel that thanks to Platinum Game's involvement, Rising has now strayed too far from it's roots to even be considered a spin off title.
The goal of this petition is to raise awareness that the vast majority of Metal Gear Solid fans are not happy with the fact that Platinum Games have influenced the development of the game to such an extent. Please sign this petition if you agree with any of the following statements:
The feedback I am reading in the comments proves that I am not alone in my frustration regarding this shift in direction. Email the Konami PR department to state that this new vision ignores what the fans actually wanted. Post the link to this petition on your Facebook wall so we can reach more long-term players.

They ruined everything. Kojima had a real vision for this and now it just looks like some mindless button masher. Waste of a good story.

Whatever happened to the original concept from 2010? That looked like a real metal gear game. This is just a massive letdown for anyone who actually cares about the lore.

Platinum games is just turning it into another bayonetta clone. So sad to see such a legendary series get cheapened like this.
