In regions afflicted by conflict, such as the Middle East in early 2026, the pervasive insecurity, emotional distress, and logistical disruptions (including communication blackouts and hazardous conditions) make it impossible to conduct standardised testing equitably or safely. Educational boards, including Cambridge and Pearson, have cancelled or suspended IGCSE and International A-Level exams in countries like Kuwait, the UAE, and Bahrain to protect students from unnecessary risks and high-stress environments. Schools are often repurposed as shelters or directly threatened by violence, so the focus shifts to utilising alternative assessment methods, such as predicted grades or internal evaluations, to ensure students can progress without sacrificing their safety. This move recognises that academic preparation requires peace of mind and security, neither of which can be guaranteed in a warzone.

I just left the school and my new school has no exams along with mostly every other school in Kuwait so it is only fair to cancel these exams then you can give them harder exams the next year
