Dear Sir,
We, faculty members at the University of British Columbia and other Universities, stand with our colleagues Judy Illes and Catherine Anderson in their demand that the Canada Science and Technology Museum better recognize the excellence of Canadian women scientists and engineers. The failure of the Museum’s Selection Committee for the Canadian Science and Engineering Hall of Fame to honour even a single woman for two years running is disturbing and unacceptable. We urge the Museum to re-assess its nomination process and to take immediate steps to develop a robust and focused campaign that ensures that excellent women from across Canada are nominated and receive due recognition for their exceptional contributions to science and technology. We applaud Professors Illes and Anderson for bringing this issue to the attention of the Canadian public and their strong statement in support of all women scientists and engineers.

Its 2015 why is this still a conversation. Fix the process already.
The lack of female representation is embarrassing for Canada. Do better.
We recognize that habits are difficult to change and that organizational nimbleness is an oxymoron... but please, please change the infrastructure - then diversity will follow.
i am in complete support of the statements. Policies regarding choices and nominations ned to be revised... asap
I oppose the absence of women nominated for the Canadian Science and Engineering Hall of Fame.
I support the request for fair action on this issue.

This is ridiculous. Plenty of women in engineering deserve to be in there.
