Because as a non-binary trans person, I deserve to not be discriminated against for my gender identity or expression like any other group that is protected by these kinds of federal legislation. Because those opposing the bill are either concerned about things that are not true about this bill (ex: refusal to use preferred pronouns will be a hate crime and put you in jail, which... no), or are using unfounded fears about trans women to try and avoid giving us basic protections. Trans women are not male predators in dresses. Trans women are women, and they are an extremely vulnerable population, and they deserve respect and protection as do the rest of us. Provincial human rights codes already protect us under that level of jurisdiction and no one's made a stink, there's been no "gender apocalypse" - it's time for the federal government to catch up. How this isn't a no-brainer I do not understand.

Transwomen are people too. We are mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, daughters and sons. We live and love, just trying to be happy like everyone else. We should not threatened and harmed for being different. Please consider our desire to live and let live, like everybody in our great country does.

As a feminist, I don't believe there is any other choice. Feminism has always been about equity, social justice and human rights... for ALL people. People who don't support the human rights of trans and gender diverse people, in the name of feminism, do NOT speak for me.
