A comment was placed in the activity feed that the town does have water and sewer, this is not true, the town they were referring to in a neighbouring suburb of Yerrinbool. I have spoken to the lady she has removed her comment, but YANDERRA has NO TOWN WATER OR SEWER and that is what the petition to

In this day and age it is ridicululous that there is no sewerage and water.

I'd like to say that I object to the terminology used to describe our town and the way we live- this town is not "disgusting" we do not live like "pigs" we certainly do not live like we are in a "third world country". We are a tiny rural town that has sustained ourselves from the very beginning to now. We are self sustainable in terms of water and each property has a strict standard set in place by the council on waste management. This has worked. Our town is a beautiful tiny rural town, yes we may be a little "outside the box" but that is what makes us who we are, that is why many residents chose to buy and reside here, because we like the fresh water in our tanks void of the nasty chemicals and bugs that are rife in town water, and we all manage in terms of our waste management. We also managed when bushfires did threaten our town in 2013 thanks to our dedicated fire brigade (which make up many long term residents). It's hard to understand why people would decide to buy into and move into a town when they so fiercely object to the way we live???
I refuse to connect to town water, I like to enjoy my fresh rain water to use and to grow my veggies in without the chemicals, as a long term resident and growing up in the country I know how to conserve water to ensure that we rarely run out and "have to pack a bag to go to a friends house" and have never had to ask my neighbour for water. Perhaps our city friends need to learn this if they have chosen to reside in a tiny rural town.
call us old fashioned if you will, but don't call the way we live disgusting.

Just another perspective, these "rural" people that object are commenting using mobile phones, their kids have access to ipads and computers, they drive everywhere all using 2015 technology but yet when some of their community wants to use 2015 technology to get basic amenities such as water and sewer that is offensive to them. Its hypocrisy, if they want to be as rural as they claim then why do they need internet access and just sustain themselves like they did from the beginning to now as stated below. Why is internet more of a priority than water and sewer? This question has been asked so many times and not 1 of these people who object will answer it. I ask all of these people who object please answer that question, why should internet access be more of a priority in 2015 than water and sewer. I am still waiting for someone to respond to that, but they never have, so it will be interesting to see if someone can actually answer that.

Crystall your experience is noted, but you are not the only resident however if you would like to take over my property and keep the ruralness of it, please make your city friend an offer to purchase from those of us that want it and you and the rest of the residents can be happy in with no water and sewer but please make me an offer otherwise understand my rights are the same as yours however feel free to buy us out. We, like you have an opinion and nowhere in this petition does it refer to "living disgusting or like pigs". Everything in the petition is a personal experience of mine and I appreciate your views, and I am sure you would be, based on your comments of you having clean water and tanks that the health department can count on you allowing them access to your clean water and sewer system to ensure you are compliant with council and health regulations as you state. I will pass on your details to them so they may get in touch should they require testing from residents as you have clearly stated you are compliant. Your objection is noted. However it clearly states it is for water and sewer CONNECTION to bring us in line with the rest of the Wollondilly shire as our RATES are the same so why aren't our AMENITIES? I am sure you can appreciate I will copy and document it for you, but it and others who are not in favour of it will not remain on the page because it is ONLY for those in support of it. I am responding to this because like you I think its getting out of hand, but please if you are going to refer to my statements, I prefer you to "quote them" but do not put up something that isn't in there. That's not fair and its not what was said and it is why this is getting so out of hand by some people. Your opinion is valid but I would prefer people to remain truthful in their allegations and statements.

yes i have had my water pump break down more than once in the middle of a shower and couldnt even make a cup of tea or use water to cook my dinner... and i dont like paying to have my sewerage removed which is costly.. plus hopefully it will increase the value of our homes which is a great thing. Its a massive pain having 2 or 3 minute showers because of the water usage and the cost of pump out..... LONG LIVE THE 15 minute shower... thats a treat in my house plus i have a lady who has birds that fly over my roof and id say pooh on my roof who knows whats in my water not to mention no fluoride for childrens teeth,
