We, the outdoor enthusiasts, wish to create a State Law that would allow "over night camping" at State/County Lakes in Alabama. A good portion of visitors to State/County Lakes come from a distance outside of the particular county that the lake is in in order to enjoy these unique natural resources that our tax dollars were used for. It would be extremely beneficial to allow for overnight camping so that more "out of town guests" could enjoy these beautiful lakes for an extended time. At the present time most of these lakes are out in the middle of "nowhere" and are under-utilized due to the travel time to get to. At the present time, the gates are opened at daybreak and closed at sunset which shortens the amount of time to fish during some of the most productive times to fish. Allowing over night camping would definitely increase tax dollars generated and make better use of the State or County resources and monies that were spent to build and maintain such facilities.
