It is in the best interest of the Big Valley Ranger District and Double Head Ranger District employees, that the position of District/ Zone Fire Management Officer for the western districts/zone NOT be filled with current Modoc National Forest employees. As the members of the west zone fire suppression and associated employees, we find it best for the morale and over all welfare, to look beyond our borders for a fresh, well regarded, highly qualified, and highly motivated LEADER to work WITH the fire suppression personnel and all Modoc Forest employees. We request that Modoc National Forest management take weight in the statement provided, as this is the NEEDS of the laboring fire suppression force as well as western zone associated employees.
