As a mother to a young baby I will be completely avoiding the area if the plan goes ahead. I would not feel safe trying to cross the road with my pram and endangering my daughter's life. I fail to see how a visually impaired person would be able to cross here or anyone with a disability for that matter.

As usual this current council barge on regardless of the views of its citizens- shame on you. Please stop this before someone is injured. If we are fortunate enpugh to avoid njuries then it will be ebcause vulbpnerable members of the community stay away which is isolating and unfair.

I am very disheartened by the present council. They should use the money for something that the people that elected them really want.
I for one feel there are too many shops closed, one burnt down which they keep saying they will do something with but we are still waiting. They made a lovely area at the canal and one at regent gardens, but is it kept clean, no, no chance. They are as dirty as the whole town. I have walked along the canal from Hillhead to Torrance and there is one bin in this whole walk. The town centre is a very dirty, and is dying on its feet. If this was Bearsden or Milngavie then it would be a different story

Leave the crossing as it is, there are people with poor sight and children who would NOT stand a chance if some of the recent drivers continue to go through at 35mph.

"consultation" Council translation : "telling people about what has already been decided". Enforcing this change will pose a threat to the lives of those who will have to use this junction on a daily basis, will whoever dreamed up this hairbrained scheme have to negotiate the idiotic results of their "masterplan"?

Kirkintilloch is becoming a ghost town, many people avoided the town centre during the last chaotic trial. Park the plans ED and move onto to thoughts on how to regenerate the empty shops and businesses without endangering lives !

You already tried this and there was an outcry and blooming nightmare cross road. When will you all down in fancy offices leave Catherine street alone. Already mucked up main street by slowing traffic down by doing away with bus bays and traffic stuck behind buses. Leave it alone before make Kirky a ghost town.

utter stupidity taking the crossing away. It was a disaster for traffic during the "trial" with so many amendments to it throughout. If it's not broken, don't fix it!
