Call to Re-direct films village project to Katsina State
We believe the withdrawn N3 Billion project for the construction of a modern film Institute (films village) from Kano state will to some extent reduce the level of unemployment in our society. Youths unemployment is a deadly disease that open doors to so many criminals activities in our society e.g drug abuse, stealing, thuggery (Sara-suka) and so many others too numerous to mention. It's better to engage the Youths in things like cinematography, photography, animation, editing and as well acting than to engage in the aforementioned activities which are now very prevalent in our society. We therefore call for the establishment of the institute in Katsina State to salvage our society from further degradation caused by unemployment. We will equally initiate and call for the establishment of a strong body to regulate the activities of people involved in the business to bring sanity in the system.
Meanwhile, another benefit we perceived is the ability of the facility to increase the level of revenue the Katsina State government will be generating in this time of economic crises that states have to borrow money to pay salaries and fund projects.
