Petition to Reconsider BGCPCS Opening for 2026–2027

To the Superintendent of Baltimore County Public Schools,

We are parents who believe our children deserve access to innovative, globally focused education.

BGC offers a unique French–Chinese–English dual language immersion program — an opportunity that does not currently exist anywhere in BCPS. More than 100 families have applied, and some have been waiting since last school year for the chance to enroll their children.

Our children are ready. Our families are committed. The demand is clear.

We respectfully urge BCPS leadership to review the decision preventing BGC from opening for the 2026–2027 school year and to allow this much-needed program to move forward.

Multilingual education strengthens cognitive development, builds cultural understanding, and prepares students for a global future. Denying this opportunity limits options for families who are eager to participate and support this school.

Please reconsider. Our children’s future deserves it.
