Dont see any advantage to this rule change. Why would you want to play in 2nd tier and not just play in A division instead

These proposed rule changes do NOTHING to improve the competitiveness of teams. Rather, we should prevent entire teams of players playing outside of their age bracket. (Jr. Ducks & Jr. Kings squirt teams playing at Pee Wee). Instead of forcing more out of town tournaments and the associated hotel costs, food and transportation, let us use that money for private lessons and ice time. That is what develops skill, not tournaments and a governing body Interfering with that.

I don't agree with splitting the AA division. Why would a team that's placed in the lower flight want to play in the AA division? I agree there should be a tournament/preseason to see where the teams stand, but move the top few to AAA and also the bottom few to A. You will have a bigger AAA division as well as a more competitive AA. Also no one should be given an automatic place in the finals/states. Everyone should have to play in the play downs. Also why does the tournament have to be in San Jose?

By not allowing what should be AAA teams to play AA just to win champions is a better solution. Each year it can be argued that the top 3 or 4 teams would have been successful in AAA. Increasing the number of AAA teams will allow CA teams to have more competition in state and maybe reduce travel needs to find competitive games. This in turn will create better development for top tier players and teams.

If anything split between a north and south or east and west and have a play down in each bracket then meet for finals. Top team should never get a free pass. See Chicago Blackhawks this year

CAHA should simplify it's involvement by utilizing pre-season tournaments/games and relegate teams to A level as necessary. No need to split Tier II and definitely NO AUTOMATIC BID to the State tournament for finishing in 1st place.

We cannot continue to change the rules YOY. There is nothing seriously wrong with the current system. Why change?
