Mission of US DOJ "To enforce the law and defend the interests of the United States according to the law; to ensure public safety against threats foreign and domestic; to provide federal leadership in preventing and controlling crime; to seek just punishment for those guilty of unlawful behavior; and to ensure fair and impartial administration of justice for all Americans."
The 10th Amendment states, "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or TO THE PEOPLE." (Emphasis sdded)
Court precedent holds that under the 5th and 14th Amendments (the rights of "Due Process" and "Equal Protection") the public health regulations used to impose QUARANTINE CONDITIONS must not be "arbitrary, oppressive, and unreasonable."
Dealing with these issues requires sincere thought, genuine examination of the facts, and careful policy.
The intervention of the US DOJ is necessary in this instance.

We need to get back to work. The explicit goal was to flatten the curve & not inundate hospitals. Done. The goal cannot be changed ipso facto. Thank you.
