Call for the job of state representative Matt Baker

It's unfathomable that one person can prevent so many people from getting the medicine they need. We live in a republic, not a dictatorship.

On May 12, 2015, the day of my Uncles funeral I decided to write Mr. Baker a letter. My Uncle passed away from brain cancer after suffering for 15 months. I urged Mr. Baker to allow medical cannabis to be voted on in PA. I pleaded with him to properly educate himself on the matter and to let his moral judgment decide whether or not PA could benefit from medical cannabis. I recieved no response. Days later he blocked the vote from taking place. I now receive a newsletter from his office every week with various messages trying to convince me that Matt Baker is a man of the people and a responsible representative. Matt Baker only cares about himself. He is just another lying politician who is backed by pharmaceutical companies. He will not represent the people of PA. He only represents his own interest. This is about money not public health. Matt Baker is bought and paid for. He does not represent the people of PA. He represents those who are willing to pay for his support. Matt Baker resign from your position and allow a honest, competent representative to make decision in support of the people of Pennsylvania. Peoples lives are on the line. This can not be taken lightly.

You need to resign!

Very sad day when one politician can deny medicine to those in need. This bill has overwhelming majority in the Senate, and the approval of the Governer. Not to mention the overwhelming majority of the people of Pennsylvania!

You clearly do NOT represent the will of the voters since 88% of your constituents are in favor of legalization! Please step down as representative!

Representative Baker (ironically named, since he neither bakes nor represents) has proven throughout the entire process of allowing Pennsylvania doctors to make medical decisions about cannabis, that he is willing to override every single patient, medical professional, civilian of Pennsylvania, and fellow politician for no medical reason, no matter the cases presented. For leaving medical patients with terminal and insufferable diseases to choose between ineffective medication, medication with severe short- and long-term side effects, or cannabis acquired in the unregulated black market, I call for your resignation. For misrepresenting the people of Pennsylvania, turning patients into criminals, and financialy feeding criminal drug activity, I ask that you be stripped of your undeserved title as Representative.

Shame on you Matt Baker. You are dripping with corruption and hypocrisy and should be removed from office. You are putting your own interests ($$) before those of the people that you have been elected to represent. How dumb do you think we are? How do you in good conscience take massive payouts from big pharmaceutical companies and then go on to profess that you are primarily concerned with the [health] interests of us, the public, especially when it is clear that the same pharmaceutical companies that you are receiving 'contributions' from are pushing prescriptions onto people and causing a massive opioid and pain-killer crisis in our state? I have close family members and friends that are victims of this. They are suffering from depression and dysfunction that is a direct result of a cornucopia of prescription pain killer abuse. When will you realize the pain and death you have on your hands, and that a legal and regulated marijuana market could solve a LOT of our problems in Pennsylvania? Do you truly believe that marijuana should remain a schedule 1 drug, making it classifiably more dangerous than COCAINE?! If so, you are truly ignorant and unfit to be the head of the Health Committee. There is a reason that an overwhelming majority (88%+) support legalization in PA (as well as the rest of the nation/world), and that reason is because it ALREADY IS MEDICINE to them, regardless of what you or the FDA says or decides to call it. If you really wanted "only the best medicine that is proven to be safe and effective for our children and my heart breaks for children and parents who have to endure very serious epileptic seizure activity" then you would stop spouting your prohibitionist inaccuracies and take all that money that you have received and turn around and use it to try and get medical cannabis legalized in PA immediately.

Get this guy out of office. It's time to realize what medicinal marijuana can do for this world. It should be legalized period for recreational use as well.

You should not be controlled by the companies who find your campaign. This is a greedy world in which we live.

I feel sorry for someone who suffers from napoleon complex as badly as matt baker does. He sold his soul to the pharmaceutical companies and in no way shape or form is for the people of Pennsylvania and needs to step aside.

What is wrong with you Mr Baker. You are clearly not listening to the peoples voices that you are suppose to represent. I very seldom sign petitions but this one is clearly warranted.

He's a corporate prostitute. A dispicable human being who takes money from companies and does their bidding. Do we even have democracy in this state, with greedy little whores like Matt Baker in positions of power? What the hell is wrong when 88% of Pennsylvanians can't have laws passed that they support? For all the children having seizures and veterans having to take opiates and becoming drug addicts, this jerk needs to step down.

Baker used Dr. admin letters to justify his position. The rationale is there isn’t enough scientific proof for medical marijuana. The Phoenix VA just denied access a FDA approved study for the effectiveness of cannabis for vets with PTSD. This shows these docs’ opinions are more biased than scientific. Another reason for Penn to hate Baker: Louisiana, not Penn will become the 24 state to have medical marijuana.

One Man should not decide the fate of millions. He is supported by anti-marijuana companies he lobbies for. Both bias and unconstitutional
