Whilst this guys actions could be viewed as insensitive it is hardly barbaric.
And what's with all these comments by people that seem to know what the majority of Glaswegians feel, think or believe? Did someone run a poll in the last few days that I am not aware of? Or is it simply that old gross generalisation nonsense that mindless people embark on when they can't think of something sensible to say.
What right does a person have to make a statement suggesting they have the backing of a majority as suggested in some of the comments left here, when in fact they most likely do not, and in actual fact are making an assumption based on hysteria
What right does the Lord Provost have to commit Glasgow to showing solidarity by raising a flag representing one side of a conflict without asking the people of the city they represent what they think...a show of support? or is it knob polishing? Maybe a bit of both, but it certainly is not in my name.
Is this guy that decided to stick the Israeli flag out the balcony a bad guy? Or is he just as annoyed as I am and made his own statement as short sighted as it might have been considering his position as a council member. If he was wrong to carry out his actions without the permission of the council, then the council is wrong to carry out it's actions without consulting with the public, after all, they are all public servants are they not?
No wonder there are so few signatures for this petition, most free thinking individuals with half a brain have more constructive things to be doing than jumping on this half baked band wagon.

David meikle must resign immediately from his position.
Disgraceful! Especially given what Israel has just done to the poor people of Gaza yet AGAIN..... Well, not in my name!
Anstruther
Absaloutly outrageous regardless of his personal views, as a political figure he has a responsibility.
