Call for enforcement action regarding development at 1 Quarry High Street

The heght and style of the building is not in keeping with the houses directly adjacent. The view from the park is also affected to the detriment of the quarry area.

The building is too high, and doesn't fit in with the lovely older buildings around it.

Due to another recent development adjoining our property, we have first hand experience of how Oxford City Council Planning Department have allowed the developers to breach the strict conditions of the planning permission they granted.

It’s shocking what they have done

A real outrage. Oxford City Council Planning department should be ashamed.

As a Quarry resident, I have cherished the careful maintenance of the conservation status of the built environment and it would be very alarming if the Oxford City Council were now to discard the principles that protect such conservation areas. It would invite developers to ride roughshod over planning processes throughout the city.

I cannot believe that was has been built is what was actually approved. There is no point in having a planning department if people can just ignore them.

This building is a total blight on the quarry. The developer has deliberately misled the community By not building to the original plans. The developer/owner has also lied to members of our community re. The so called final usage of the building. I have had to follow all the planning regulations but he seems to think he can do what he likes and ignoring the annoyance and upset that he is causing the local community.

Build must correspond with approved plans or the whole system fails

Significantly deviates from the architectural plans that I've seen. What's the point in planning permission if it will be flouted like that? If this is allowed, consider what kind of message this will send to future developers.

They are horrible buildings and I can’t believe the building work has been allowed to continue.

I actually did a literal double-take when I walked through Quarry recently. What an eyesore! I can't believe permission was granted to build on this plot at all - but flouting the rules and deviating from the plan for which they had permission is just outrageous! I hope you can halt their building works immediately as a consequence. This building is too tall for its surroundings (if nothing else), and as such is not in-keeping with the area.

This building is so out of keeping with all of the Quarry surroundings! Discussing to have been aloud to have taken the wall down between the park and the building!

This building is way too high for this area! It’s a terrible eye sore for the quarry and needs to be addressed.

This development is much larger than proposed and, as such, raises serious issues for the appearance of the local area and traffic safety.

This development is out of keeping with the character of the area and detrimental both to the appearance of the Quarry Conservation Area and the safety of the narrow roads that pass alongside the development.
