Your CYC leadership was NOT "ready to proceed with Phase 1" without member support. The Board called the February 22 meeting to discuss with the membership whether Phase 1 should proceed. We were criticized by the group now advancing this petition for even calling a meeting to discuss changes. The clear result of that meeting was that the existing plans needed further discussion, revision, and Membership support. On April 2, I reported in the "Crier" to the Membership that no work on Phase 1 would take place over the coming (2014-15) winter shutdown and that further discussion with the membership would take place. The picture being painted of a rogue Board proceeding wildly is totally inaccurate. No special meeting is necessary; indeed the Board called the initial meeting on these plans and has heeded the input obtained there.
Second, additional and earlier financial disclosures have been an initiative of your Club leadership for most of this year. Discussions during our Board meetings in April and May determined that earlier and fuller financial disclosures (a change from the practice dating from when this petitioning group ran the Club) were proper, and a formal financial disclosure policy was adopted at the June CYC Board meeting and is reflected in the Minutes of that meeting. In compliance with that policy, all Members will soon be receiving the outside accountant's report of our 2013 results, and partial year 2014 results will be delivered prior to the Annual meeting. Assertions that this disclosure is in reaction to this petition effort are nothing more than an attempt by this dissident group to claim credit for your Board's existing efforts. The statement that "It took a Special Meeting petition to trigger a promise to release a financial report," is totally inaccurate and either made out of ignorance of the Board's work or is a deliberate falsehood.
Finally, no one in CYC leadership or management is happy with the member dining losses. We c

E-signature for communications to the organization is sometimes allowed under California law, but only when the organization has previously adopted procedures to ensure the control, identity, and security of the communication, which has not happened here. The legislature was rightly concerned that anyone could set up a website and claim any level of support absent such protections. Previously, signatures on this petition (since removed by some unseen hand-not your Club) demonstrated the ease of impersonating any name.

If you care to point them out, I will provide appropriate background. Otherwise, vague charges of inaccuracies are so much blather--as is the claim that the Board is about to rush ahead on remodeling when we have clearly stated otherwise.
