This is a disgrace. Even if it's a cultural fest or KARNAVEL as the Germans prefer to call it, fact remains it's digging up very painful history. Do not scratch where it does not itch - it might bleed.

This is 2015, an independent country still young with the history of yesterday tainted by this same shocking truth...being celebrated? Being referred to as bad journalism? This is far beyond an apology, one can see what they really think and feel decades and decades after. Where are you world, will you stand silent again? Where are you?

Its high time these miscreants and recalcitrants be taught a lesson. They should not trouble trouble when trouble has not troubled them... Boldly idiots!

These people need to take responsibility for their actions and should be an example to other racially intolerant idiots to not do the same thing. Something has to be done so that this terrorism is annihilated!!!

I'm saddened by the fact that racial memorabilia/attire is tolerated in an independent Namibia

I dont understand why this is a big deal, many times other cultures have dressed as either chinese, mexican or french at festivals, even in our country you will find people of different ethnic groups dressed as a traditional herero or damara, even going as far to dress as we did pre independence but once a white person dresses a black person it suddenly becomes a big deal.. How do we expect Racism to end in this world if we bicker about the small things we consider racist? Perhaps I don’t understand exactly what happened at the festival, did they re enact slavery? did they burn crosses like actual racist people did back then or did they call someone The N word? not to sound like a sympasiser but if people lose their minds about everything white people do that has something to do with black people then i am afraid we are not gonna move forward in any way as a country.. I am a pre independence kid and i know how scary it was back then.. but we have since embraced independence and the brotherhood that came with the said independence, or are we a nation of we will (partially) forgive but never forget? Just my thoughts

My heart is broken and I am totally numb... Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, " says the Lord, thoughts of peace not evil, to give you a future and a hope".

Shocking that youth in Namibia in 2015 think it is ok to dress up like that.
