The editorial team of AZ have not shown the responsibility that is an essential ingredient of a responsible press. Shocking lack of sensitivity. The youths concerned really do need life skills training to understand our history and have an understanding of the boundaries that separate satire from gross insult. We trust that the editorial team from AZ will front up and provide clarity on how they allowed the "imaginative" images to be printed.

My grandparents fought long and hard for racism to end, yet here we are with a bunch of ignorant children. Do they have ANY idea how many people died because of racism?

I happen to know these guys, this was actually a group of four namibian youths - with only 3 of them of european ancestry, the fourth a black. You all can hate on as you like, they are actually a symbol of perfect integration. But it is so typical that people must stir up problems where there are none - it seems to be close to propaganda when I see that of course they are only depicting the 3 whites of the group. That is the real insensibility. That costume was to be an act of irony at the situation in Namibia, as can be seen in many comments here, that in whatever one does everyone suspects a racist motivation behind it. This does not help anyone. We really have more important issues to address in Namibia.

I get that it's a dress up, and the costume belongs to very base and simple minded religious fanatics far from Namibia. But the prejudice they represent is too close to home, wearing the costume illustrates a lack of sensitivity, ignorance, and a lack of appreciation for the the world outside of the wearer's bubble.

These are Whites who aren't interested in Nation building and think of themselves as being more European than Namibian and hence the disconnect and blatant insensitivity. I dont think they would dress up as Hitler or Jews if they were in Germany.
