We became independent for a reason. As a white person this was something I was proud of. To me we are all human and one nation. I don't stand nor will I tolerate such behaviour. They are allowing that people now discriminate against all whites because of their bad manners. Sis on them. Hold them accountable. I support this petition 100%. No place in our beautiful society for guys like that.

This is something that I as a swakopmund resident will not stand for not tolerate... We have the names of these individuals and regardless of their age. Will be dealt with as adults!

Those actions on the part of the kids as well as the ignorant newspaper that published the pictures, hould be condemned in the strongest possible manner. No to racism in Namibia.

I'm happy to sign the petition but I'm hoping rather for the events organiser, the costumed fools and the publisher of the photos to bear greater consequences than simply apologising, they have disrupted the peace and therefore must be charged with a crime.
Are we to polite to some of these racists? Have we allowed them to get away with too much in this country? Many white Southern Africans choose to live their lives separate (in a bubble) not acknowledging the past and it's effects today. Would most of us have even known about this without it being published, and consider how many others choose to dress up like this at home. So my question is for all young Namibians whose parent/s most likely fought against apartheid....how long before we send a serious message to people to shape up?

I am a German living in Namibia, married to a Namibian Damara. We as a couple have been through so much here and still face staring, disapproving people here on a daily basis... It is horrible and sad what SOME (not all, and also NOT all white) people are doing, thinking and saying here.. These "costumes" are shameful, absolutely disrespectful, and I totally agree that this has to have consequences!!
