Overview:

Recognizing the importance of fostering a sustainable and environmentally conscious campus community, we present this petition to advocate for the implementation of mandatory sustainability educational training for incoming students at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.

Background:

Building upon the groundwork initiated by graduate student Kalea Conrad and an interdisciplinary group of students, we are proposing that an already existing training module, Sustainable Living Edu, is required for all incoming Cal Poly students. It is a 30 minute module that covers Climate Change, Resource Conservation, and Sustainable Practices on and off campus, and is similar to the modules for Sexual Violence Prevention and Alcohol and Other Drugs.

Why It Matters:

Including education about these important topics in an on-boarding training module has the potential to have far-reaching positive effects on the environmental attitudes of Cal Poly students and the overall sustainability of the campus. This is a great opportunity for you to push Cal Poly in the right direction and help the campus follow through on its sustainable aspirations.

How You Can Help:

We kindly ask for your support by signing this petition.

Thank you for considering this important endeavor. Together, we can create positive change and contribute to a more sustainable future for Cal Poly.

Sincerely,

Greenwave
