Restore Equality and Sense to Canadian Airlines

We, the undersigned people of Canada and friends of Canada from around the world, believe in equality under the law and a balanced playing field in the economy. But in the Canadian airline industry there is a blatant inequality.
Air Canada, unique among all Canadian airlines, is bound by the Official Languages Act as an obsolete artifact of it's past as a governmental institution. Seeing as Air Canada has been a publicly traded corporation for more than 25 years, and seeing as how the global airline industry has been suffering chronic financial problems, it no longer makes sense to target this one, sole airline with regulations that leave Air Canada vulnerable to lawsuits and do not apply to any other Canadian airline from sea to sea.
Air Canada deserves to be equal under the law.
We hereby petition the Federal Government of Canada to amend the Air Canada Public Participation Act Section 10 Paragraph 1 to relieve Air Canada of this unique burden. We also call for amendments to any other laws that treat Air Canada differently than other airlines in any respect.
Let all airlines in Canada compete on a level playing field!
