This petition is for all students who attend Cobourg District Institute West with I.E.P's for their Learning Disability. Room 202 use to be a "Special Education" room. Now it is being treated as a "Meet and Greet" room. The room changed to be an Academic Support Room. This means that instead of having a quiet room for students who need extra help with learning disabilities, it is now opened to anyone. Room 202 is now loud and most of the time, it is very crowded in the small room. Some teachers are allowing too many students to go to the resource room at one time and a majorly of those don't have a learning disability. When the room gets too full of students, there are students who are denied using the room who have a learning disability because Mr. Johnson or the other teachers don't have "enough" room in 202. Some students who go there don't even do a lot of work, they just use it as a get out of class card. The teachers are never quick to kick those loud students out of 202 but seem to have no problem kicking the others out. The library is a big enough space for the other students. The principle seems to agree with the change that Mr. Johnson made. This is for people to sign who wants the "Special Education" room back. Right now there is no special Education room.
