The University of Michigan should change the name of the Little Building, not only (and most importantly) because Little served as president of the American Eugenics Society but also because he was the scientific director of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Tobacco Industry Research Committee, even going as far as disavowing his own studies on the effects of particulates as causes of disease and providing millions of dollars for "research" to "prove" tobacco did not cause cancer . Perhaps the University should consider naming the building the Salk Francis building for Jonas Salk and Thomas Francis, emphasizing an important and beneficial historical milestone at Michigan.
